A Legacy of Faithful Ministry to Muslims
Known as the Red Sea Team until 2007, ReachAcross was started in the 1950s by Dr. Lionel Gurney. Moved by his experiences serving in a hospital in Yemen, Gurney mobilized a small team of Christians dedicated to work among Muslims and share Jesus. Though their contemporaries were quick to tell them that evangelizing among such people in such places was too difficult, these early workers stayed faithful. The team grew to include workers from all over the world reaching out to Muslims throughout Africa and the Middle East. Today, ReachAcross ministers to Muslims both in Islamic homelands, as well as in their diaspora communities here in the West. We believe Jesus is revealing Himself to Muslims and want to continue to be faithful to join Him in His work.

ReachAcross is dedicated to a vision to see Muslims become devoted followers of Jesus Christ through self-sustaining and reproducing fellowships. And we seek to realize this vision through our mission to:

Our Distinctives
ReachAcross has a unique DNA stemming from our heart and passion to work exclusively with Muslims from traditionally unreached people groups. We love and see our communities as people, not projects, and seek to creatively and authentically intertwine our lives with our Muslim neighbors in the hope of showing them Christ’s love. We work in teams, are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and open to engaging Muslims wherever and however God puts before us.

Statement of Faith
God
We believe in One God, eternally co-existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who created all things and sustains them by His power and mercy.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ, His deity and true humanity, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present ministry of intercession and His personal return in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit by whose illumination, conviction and regeneration men are brought to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and His work of sanctification whereby the Christian and the Church are enabled to worship, witness and minister, and live a godly victorious life.
The Bible
We believe in the Old and New Testaments, inerrant in all their parts as originally given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, as the supreme and all-sufficient rule of faith and conduct: the Word of God with full Divine authority.
Sin
We believe in the fall of man and the consequent sinfulness, guilt, and condemnation of all men, the free and perfect justification of all who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, and their regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Eternity
We believe in the bodily resurrection and the final judgment of all mankind, the eternal perfection and blessedness of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost.
Church Unity
We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ who comprise His body, the Church, irrespective of denomination.
Missions
We believe the supreme mission of the Church which is to glorify Jesus Christ and to be His witness to every part of the world.
