Resources to Help Church Leaders and Lay People
Love and Reach Their Muslim Neighbors

Al Massira Training

Al Massira means “The Journey”. This 13-part course was designed and developed in the Middle East and is tailored at helping Muslims encounter Jesus by first understanding the story of the Prophets and how they point to him. Think if it as a Alpha Course for Muslims who are interested in exploring Christianity. We train church leaders and other Christians on how to use Al Massira to engage with and share Jesus with Muslims in their community.

Friendship First

Friendship First consists of four 75-minute sessions with practical teaching, group discussion and personal stories. The course aims to help Christians to build unconditional friendships with Muslim neighbours and colleagues, encouraging deeper understanding of one another’s faiths and cultures, sharing life, extending the love of Jesus through our words and actions, and building opportunities to bear sensitive Christian witness where appropriate.

Reading List

Below is our reading list we recommend for Christians looking to learn and understand more about the Muslim worldview and how to best share the love of Jesus with their Muslim neighbors.

A Wind in the House of Islam: How God is drawing Muslims around the world to faith in Jesus Christ

David Garrison

Dr. David Garrison’s long-awaited global survey of Muslim movements to Christ reveals that we are in the midst of the greatest turning of Muslims to Christ in history. David Garrison, PhD University of Chicago, traveled a quarter-million miles throughout the Muslim world investigating movements, each one with at least a thousand baptisms that have occurred over a two-decade period, some containing tens of thousands of Muslims who are now followers of Jesus Christ. Garrison’s core question: “What did God use to bring you to faith in Jesus Christ? Tell me your story.”

The Crescent through the Eyes of the Cross: Insights from an Arab Christian

Nabeel Jabbour

Go beyond mere tolerance to a passion for Muslims. This book explains how that can be done in ways that are sensitive to Islamic culture and provides suggestions on how to build vital relationships with Muslims.

Answering Islam: The Crescent in Light of the Cross

Norman Geisler and Abdul Saleeb

Answering Islam evaluates the claims of orthodox Islam from a Christian point of view, appealing especially to the Qur’an and the Bible. The authors, a Christian apologist and a former Muslim, provide apologetic answers to prepare Christians for ministry in the Islamic context. This second edition contains two new appendices, a new preface written in light of September 11, 2001, and updated information throughout.

Delighting in the Trinity: An Introduction to the Christian Faith

Michael Reeves

Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves is a classic introduction to the heart of the Christian faith—our triune God. Drawing from centuries of church history up to the present, Reeves explores how the doctrine of the Trinity isn’t just a theological concept but the foundation of our intimate relationship with God.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity

Nabeel Qureshi

Providing an intimate view into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi struggled with an inner turmoil that will challenge Christians, Muslims, and all those who are interested in two of the world’s greatest religions and the quest for truth.

Liberty to the Captives: Freedom from Islam and Dhimmitude through the Cross

Mark Durie

Liberty to the Captives is a resource for equipping the church to minister freedom from the yoke of Islam, both for those who have lived as non-Muslims under Islamic dominance, and for those who have come to Christ out of a Muslim background. Liberty to the Captives identifies the dhimma pact of surrender to Muslim rule, and the shahada—the Muslim confession of faith—as covenants which must be rejected and renounced by followers of Christ. It explains why this is necessary, and how to do it. The prayers and declarations provided here have been tested across six continents, and have proven value for setting people free from fear, breaking spiritual strongholds, and releasing men and women to be bold and effective witnesses to the saving power of Christ.
